[BLOG] PANN: Manila fans are badㅋ

With the recent visit of INFINITE in the Philippines, everyone was so delighted and most fans prepared for the big day such as memorizing fan chants, lyrics and preparing projects to show their support. As we're all aware of, despite the growth of the Korean wave to other countries outside Korea, not all fans can speak and understand their language. Because as they say, music has it's own language and that's why people from different ethnicity can enjoy foreign music even without the background of the origin country's language.

During one of INFINITE's ment at their Manila concert leg, Woohyun and Sungyeol asked the Filipino fans (in Korean) to sing Sunggyu's solo song 'Kontrol'. As a result, not all fans sang and made Sunggyu disappointed.

This tweet from one of Sungyeol's fansite even added oil to the fire because of it's misleading message, resulting to some Korean Inspirits to react negatively. The translation of the tweet is written below:

"Sungyeollie (in) Manila looking at fans and asking them to sing Kontrol but no one did so Sungyeol comforted the disappointed Sunggyu"
It's not that NO ONE sang, it's just that NOT ALL fans sang because they didn't understand his request. Korean Inspirits commented as follows:

  • Nobody can even sing that song!!! Come back to Korea Sunggyu and I'll sing along if you'll ask me to sing!!!
  • ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Manila fans please at least give an effort (to sing)!! *lyrics to Sunggyu's song* I'll sing along!!

As I've said in my Twitter account, this is outrageous because not everyone from the international fandom can speak and understand Korean. What do you think of this matter? Let me know.

  2. I wasn't in the concert but they've posted what really happened and I heard, that the translator didn't translate the part where inspirit PH asked to sing.
Because of that the inspirits wasn't able to sing, it doesn't mean that we don't know our dear Sunggyu's song or don't want to sing it, we didn't mean to disappoint him or any of the members, we are not that kind of fans. We love Them too much that we can't bare seeing them sad, down disappointed or what, and we're sorry about that. After reading this article, my heart just dropped, please don't misunderstand, we Are inspirits like you guys too, I know most of us Inspirits PH are trying to learn and understand Korean so that we can understand their music, so that if the day comes that we'll meet, we could able to sing along with them, No matter how much the inspirits ph ( in the concert ) like to sing the verse ( Kontrol ) they didn't sang because it wasn't translated, We love infinite and love to sing along with them.

PAPAGYU!! we're sorry about it, but please don't be disappointed to us, You have no idea how much we love INFINITE , How much we love you, We love your songs! It's too perfect to dislike! Inspirit ph might haven't sang that time but you don't know how many times we listen to your songs, Infinite Songs..... Saranghaeyo !!!!(^O^)

  3. We love Sunggyu's songs but as one of the attendee in that concert, I am one to admit that we really didn't get what is Woohyun said. Honestly, we are just waiting for the translator to translate it but unfortunately, its too late to guess why Woohyun pointing to us his microphone. We love all Infinite's songs and we sings them especially when we hear playing at the radio while we are on a ride or travel.

Sunggyu oppa, I'm sorry! We didn't mean to disappoint you! We really loves you! I hope you will understand us. Saranghaeyo!

  5. [SHARE] What happened in IE Manila?

For those who are asking why PH INSPIRITS are apologizing to Sunggyu oppa, especially for International Inspirits out there.

A ment after the solo and unit performances, Woohyun asked fans if we like their performances. Woohyun asked PH INSPIRITS if we knew Sunggyu's Kontrol and if we can sing it out loud. Woohyun talked in Korean. AND THE TRANSLATOR FAILED TO GIVE US THE MEANING OF WHAT HE SAID. Some fans sing. Yes. They sang, those who understand Korean and they are only few, but, they weren't in sync. Some sang the first verse, some sang the chorus, and MAJORITY OF THE FANS DIDN'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING SINCE THE TRANSLATOR DIDN'T EVEN GIVE THE MEANING OF WHAT HE SAID. It is okay if he/she translated that even he/she was somehow late, we are able to sing that, but he/she didn't. Its really disappointing that we weren't able to sing for Sunggyu. WE LOVE SUNGGYU. WE LOVE INFINITE. WE REALLY KNOW THE SONG. Its just that miscommunication lead to misunderstanding And a great disappointment. We are really sorry for him.

PLEASE DO NOT SPREAD FALSE RUMORS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED AND YOU ARE NOT IN THE CONCERT.

I'm at the concert. VIP Area. I know what really happened.

THANK YOU. I hope this scenario won't give us PH Fans bad impressions from other International Inspirits. Thank you for reading until the end.

PS. Team Concert, you can correct me if I'm wrong. This is my point of view.

    - We really love and knew all your songs oppa. Inspirit PH we're so sorry about what happned. We love you.

    - We wanted to say sorry about what happened and we misunderstood each other due to language barrier.

    - Because we sang it later after Woohyun asked us to sing. We're confused if we should sing the first part or chorus. Now, sit down. ^___^

    - we weren't able to sing because we didn't understand what they say, not becaise we don't know the song
but when woohyun counted 3,2,1 to ph inspirits and everyone was silent coz we dont know which part to .sing:(
next time when u come back here we'll sing kontrol even in the airport from your arrival to departure

  6. I was at the concert as well, Lower Box A. And I definitely agree with the comments of my fellow PH Inspirits above.

It was Woohyun who actually asked the fans (in Korean language) to sing Kontrol. But because the translator failed to translate what he was saying, we were clueless. Until Woohyun counted as a signal for us sing, that's the time that we realized that he was asking us to sing. And it's not like no one did sing at all (what kind of tweet is that, were you really there?), we did sing. It was only not in sync because we were not sure which part should we sing, but most us did sing.

The part where Sungyeol conforted Gyu (it was actually morenlike teasing Gyu) was when the fans were able to sing Infinite F's song because the translator was able to translate the part where we were asked to sing their song. See, we know their songs, we can sing their songs, thought not perfectly, but we definitely made huge effort in memorizing theirs songs by heart.

So please, to all of you who were not in the concert or do not even know what exactly happened, stop spreading false rumors and saying negative things to our fandom. Inspirit is one of the best fandoms ever know! And we love our boys sooo much!

I truly believed that our dear leader Gyu understood what happened because even after that incident, nothing changed with his performance and how he intereacted with PH Inspirits during the concert. We received overflowing fan service from him especially on the side where I was seated. And I was able to capture those moments in my camera.

L is my number one bias in INFINITE. And the rest of boys were all equal to me after L. But after Infinite Effect Manila, I can say that leader Gyu is now my second bias. I was really mesmerized by his personality and his voice.

The fact that "even if there is language barrier, InspiritPH still choose to support INFINITE because we love them to bits" is already a proof that we are willing to do whatever it takes to make our boys happy. Inspirit PH loves INFINITE sooo much!

Our love for our boys is Infinite. Thank you for making us happy once again.

And as quoted by INFINTE, Infinite Effect Manila is one of the best concerta they have.

"Meron Poreber. Babalik kmi, promise." (There's forever "with Inspirit and Infinite". We will come back, promise). These are some of the lines that our boys left us during the concert. :)

    P.S.
To the writer of this blog, Min Lee, thank you for speaking on behalf of PH Inspirits.

  8. I was in the concert as well. Actually what said by other inspirit ph is true. We're Pilipino's not Korean. May I ask if all Korean's know tagalog? Psshh.. We didn't even understand what Woohyun said. We love Leader Sungkyu as much as other Inspirit do. Even if we do understand his language or not. We love Infinite even though we don't understand korean. We still love them anyways regardless of the language barrier. May I say no one is perfect. People meant to act on false judgement but still do hear what is TRUE. Philippines has up to 175 languages and not one of those is Korean fyi. ;)

  9. As what has already been said, we weren't able to sing it because we didn't understand what Woohyun said. That translator wasn't quick enough to translate Woohyun's words.

Sorry for not being able to understand Korean. But please people should know the facts straight, especially those who blab their mouths, not knowing what really happened and weren't even there at the concert.
